Hans Knut Sveen med konsert i HolbergdageneHans Knut Sveen in recital at Holbergdagene

Hans Knut Sveen lectures in a workshop on early harpsichords and clavichords Nov. 23 at 12 in Gunnar Sævigs Sal, Grieg Academy.
The issues for discussion are
1. Pitch and 16th Cent. keyboard practice
2. Connection between ‘the old’ and ‘the new’, what are the links back to the 14th Cent. keyboard instruments and how the 16th Cent. harpsichords were transformed into ‘Baroque’ instruments.
The instruments on display are the J. Katzman copies of Alessandro Trasuntino 1531 and the Johannes Ruckers, double 1638 (in a ‘rebuilt’ fashion, a French style ‘petit ravalement’) and a copy of an anonymous clavichord, dated ca. 1700.
That night you can hear him playing those instruments at 19:30 in the same hall. There is music by Kerll, Cabezon, Attaingnant, Chambonnieres and Bach.
